Install the program on PC number two but don't run it

Now copy the contents of the folder C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\AppData\Roaming\LogOM on computer number one on to a memory stick or card and then paste those files into the same folder on computer number two.

Start Log4OM on PC2

I advise that you store your SQLite logbook file on one if the cloud systems like Dropbox or Google drive so that it can be used from both computer or copy the file onto PC2 to a convenient location like documents folder

Yes the program can also auto backup to dropbox

However I was suggesting that you place the main logbook database in a dropbox folder so that both computer can share a common database

The database will be named by whatever name you decided on when you first used Log4om and it is displayed at the bottom right of the program window as below.

In this case the logbook database is named Test Latest.sqlite

1. Create a dropbox folder named Log4OM

2. In this new Dropbox folder create another folder named Backups

3. Ensure you have dropbox installed on both computers

4.. Find the SQLite file which is the one shown at the bottom right hand corner of the Log4OM window as shown in my last post and copy it to the C:\.................\Dropbox\Log4om folder you just created - Allow some time for the file to synchronise on both computers!

5. On each computer go to File\Open database and select the SQLite file that you just copied to the C:\.................\Dropbox\Log4om folder - You are now able to use either computer for logging and both computers will have the logbook synchronised via Dropbox

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO LOG ON BOTH COMPUTERS SIMULTANEOUSLY TO AVOID DATA CONFLICTS - JUST ONE COMPUTER AT A TIME!

6. Now go to the Log4OM Options\settings 1 tab and in the 'Optional Secondary Backup folder' field navigate to the C:\.................\Dropbox\Log4om\backups folder you created earlier

7. Check the boxes 'No delete on secondary' and 'Auto backup on close'

This ensures that you have a backup on both computers in the default location and another (Secondary) backup on Dropbox
