Hi- I am trying to get Log4OM and CW Skimmer running at the same time. I am also running Win4K3. Thus am using virtual cable pairs. So I set up Skimmer to run off one cable pair in Omni-Rig as RIG1 and then Log4OM with another pair as RIG2. But can't get it to work. I start CW Skimmer and it starts up fine and runs normally, But having trouble with the Log4OM side of things. First, on the top "icon" menu bar I keep changing the Rig to "Rig2" but it won't maintain that setting. Each time I restart the Program it has changed back to Rig1. So I need some help in trying to sort out the using two rigs via Omni-rig to be able to have Log4OM and CW skimmer running simultaneously via Omni-Rig
Tnx & 73

Re: Omni-Rig Question
If you are using the VSP only in an attempt to run Log4OM and CWSkimmer simultaneously it is not nessesary
Omnirig multithreads with programs designed to work with it so my set up is a good example
Omnirig has Rig 1 for my IC7600
Log4OM is using Omnirig with Rig 1 selected
CWSkimmer is also using Omnirig Rig 1
Bandmaster is using Omnirig Rig 1
NO VSP involved

Re: Omni-Rig Question
Terry - thanks for the reply. I see that it is working for you, but I can not get it to work as well here. I have screen shots of Omnirig setup, and the Log4om screen but when I tired to attach, it said they were too large. they are about 300kb, don't seem that big. Anyway, I started Log4OM first and the CAT interface open correctly, using Omni-rig Rig1. It shows the correct radio freq. But as you can see in the one attachment I could add, Skimmer opens up but the The Freq is not showing, and the in the lower left hand corner, you can see the radio icon is red, showing that there is a CAT interface problem. If I close Log4OM, and then start Skimmer, the CAT interface in Skimmer works. so for some reason, I still have a conflict it seems. Can yo help?

Re: Omni-Rig Question
Is Omnirig Rig 1 connected directly to the radio or are you still using a virtual serial port?
If your still using a VSP - Why?
Did you install Log4OM as an administrator (Run as an administrator)?
What version of Log4OM are you using?
Did you ensure that CW Skimmer is connecting to Radio 1 the same as Log4OM in the CW Skimmer settings/CAT menu?
Is the CW Skimmer settings/Radio tab is using the 3kHz radio?
Are you using the latest version of Omnirig? - Must be version 1.16

Re: Omni-Rig Question
Terry-
I connect K3 to microHam USB router software, in which I also have a virtual port for FSK and CW use. I use the microHam DK II as a digital interface and it has a built in winkeyer and allows true FSK rtty. I then connect WIn4K3 suite to the K3 using one of the microHam virtual ports. Within Win4K3 I have 4 virtual cable pairs. One of the Win4K3 cables is set up for CW Skimmer use. Why do I do this, to allow multiple programs to share the radio connection.
- I don't remember if I installed Log4OM as an administrator, but I do run it as an administrator. But I could redo to be sure.
- I am using Log4OM 1.26.0.0
- CW Skimmer is connected to Radio !, the same as Log4OM
- CW Skimmer is using the SoftRock IF hardware type. I take the IF output of the K3 to an LP Pan2 and then its output to an Asus Xonar U7 sound card. Skimmer is then Using the Zonar's Line output. CW Skimmer is working great in this hardware configuration. It is just the CAT interface that I can't get to work.73

Re: Omni-Rig Question
Please try connecting Omnirig directly to the radio WITHOUT any VSP and see what happens
You must INSTALL Log4OM as an administrator or set it to do so in the Logom.exe properties

Re: Omni-Rig Question
Terry- I reinstalled Log4OMJ as an Administrator, and set the properties to always run the program as Administrator. Then tried again still joy - but still using VSP. Then I change the properties on CW Skimmer to always run as an Administrator and voila! it worked - still using the VSP. So I am good to go running both Log4OM and CW Skimmer with a good CAT interface to both & still able to use the VSP. Thanks so much for you help and persistence.
