Sorted printout of QSL labels in accordance with the QSL bureau rules.

Post by ve3nr »

When printing labels in Log4OM is there a way to sort the labels according to qsl bureau rules?

Hello Terry

I do not know if the rules are universal, but in Portugal these are the rules:

"The QSL cards must be sent to the QSL Service ordered by countries prefixes. Exceptions are those aimed to Australia and the United States of America, which shall be ordered by Numbers of the respective Call Area.
COUNTRIES WITHOUT QSL SERVICE
QSL cards should not be sent to the following countries, because they do not have a QSL Service:
A3 Tonga, S9 Sao Tome & Principe, ZD9 Tristan da Cunha, A5 Bhutan, SU Egypt, ZK1 North & South Cook, A6 United Arab Emirates, T2 Tuvalu, 3B Mauritius CN Morocco, T3 Kiribati, 3C0 Pagalu Island, D2 Angola, T5 Somalia, 3C Equatorial Guinea, E3 Eritrea, T8 Palau, 3DA0 Swaziland, FJ Saint Barthelemy, TJ Cameroon, 3W, XV Vietnam, J5 Guinea-Bissau, TL Central African Rep, 3X Guinea, J8 St. Vincent, TN Congo, 4W Timor, KH0 Mariana Is., TT Chad 5A Libya, KH1 Baker & Howland Is., TY Benin, 5R Madagascar, KH4 Midway Island, UK Uzbekistan, 5T Mauritania, KH5 Palmyra & Jarvis Is., V3 Belize, 5U Niger, KH7K Kure Island, V6 Micronesia, 5V Togo, KH9 Wake Island, VP2E Anguilla, 7O Yemen, KP1 Navassa Island, VP2M Montserrat, 7P Lesotho, KP5 Desecheo Island, XU Kampuchea, 7Q Malawi, P2 Papua New Guinea, XW Laos, 7W Timor, P5 North Korea, XZ Myanmar (Burma), 8Q Maldives, PZ Suriname, YA, T6 Afghanistan, 9N Nepal, S0 Western Sahara, Z2 Zimbabwe, 9U Burundi, S7 Seychelles, 9X Rwanda"

Hi Terry,

QSL cards sorted in an order accepted by the local qsl service, which can be different from country to country, state to state, province to province. As an example our outgoing qsl service in VE3 wants all US cards in one bundle regardless of call, e.g. A, K, N W, etc. It could also be all cards going to one continent in one bundle.

Next question is how do you print labels in alphabetical order? I can't see any option available.Thanks.

I must be missing something here or I totally misunderstand your request

You can sort the order of the label print by using the normal Windows routine of clicking on the column heading title to change a sort order as shown below

Below is an example sorted by call sign order order

And this one by country order

So you can sort by any column heading including DXCC number and additionally you can use the 'Search Parameters' button for a more refined list.

Also you can sort by your own station call sign by using the 'Station Callsign drop down at the top of the Label management window.

So for US cards outgoing from VE3 use the search parameters to select only the DXCC number for the US and then click whatever column heading you wish to set the sort order to callsign, county, state, CQ or ITU zone or if you recorded it the colour of his pants etc

The example below used 'Search Parameter' DXCC=291 to search for only QSO's from the USA

Then I selected the cards to be sent using the 'QSL sent drop down and selecting 'No-no'

Now I checked the selection boxes for the ones I want to get a QSL from

Followed by clicking on the column title 'Call sign' to sort alphabetically A to Z

Let me know what I am missing please?

Hi Terry,

Thanks for all info and examples. Printing in order of country alphabetically could work for me. Printing small batches of labels is not a big deal but I have several hundred labels to print so sorting in a specific order makes a big difference. Thanks!
