Starting program

Post by F4VRF »

I have been using logOM for 5+ years and like it. However I have just changed to V2 which looks great but......... every time I open the program I have to create a new database and import the adi file again. I followed the installation instructions to the letter, have deleted and reinstalled five times with same results. I am running the program as administrator. Help please.

Have you saved the configuration after you created the new DB and imported the ADIF ?
If not Log4OM can´t know it at the next start.

I have noticed that in the top left box where callsign, signal report, etc is there is a red square next to the notes block. Left click to view right click to clear, when viewed it says please create/connect to a database. When installing the program I went through the create database steps and was told that a database was created and connecting correctly!!

Juergen, thanks for the reply. Yes I have saved the database after creating, then save/exit. When the save is pressed should you see some activity? when I press save nothing visually happens!

O.k., looks like you have an active database connected. This should be shown in the right lower
corner of the Main UI. See my screenshot:

If you see this you are connected to a valid database and if you don´t see any entry in the
Recent QSO´s (F7) tab it´s only empty. All you have to do then is to import ADIF via the
File menu in the upper left. By the wy it must be an ADIF in ADIF3 format. If you have
Log4OM V1 installed you can export in there an ADIF as ADIF 3 (see the checkbox in the V1
export window).
