MAp

Post by nd1x »

The DX map works great, shows station location etc. Also great circle bearing. USA map shows center of USA on all US calls. My guess it has something to do with the grids?

It indicates that you are not getting a full on line lookup!

I suspect that your using QRZ but have something configured incorrectly

Check that your QRZ password does not include special characters like !"£$%^&*()_+}{][;'@:~#?><,./ if it does then change it to just letters and numbers

Terry, thanks for the input. My QRZ password is just numbers and letters. I do not know where else on LOG4OM that I can see what may be causing this, Actually its a small thing for me to worry about. Everything else is working fine. I just recently subscribed to QRZ and was able to set up LOTW . I did get their QRZ API reference and was able to get the p12 TQSL loaded. I down loaded all of my LOTW contacts to QRZ, about 7K. but none of my new calls (from the last 4 days) from LOG 4 OM are showing up at QRZ? Puzzling to me. I did hear some hearsay that LOTW is bogged down from a contest from last weekend? My log after shutting down is sending to LOTW and that works okay. I do check LOTW a day after and those calls are there.

John, couple questions.

Are you getting all the other user info propagated when you enter a callsign and see their QRZ picture on the right?

Your LOTW upload is unrelated to QRZ.com so LOTW can be bogged down (and it has been) and QRZ should still function just fine.

You either need to download from LOTW into QRZ using the method in QRZ.com settings, upload automatically to QRZ from Log4OM which requires the checkbox located in configuration>External Services>QRZ.COM to be checked or manually upload from LOG4OM using the QSL manager.

The second method is the most common and preferred.

Rich ,no I am not getting a picture on the right. I was wondering about that. How do I correct that problem? I did when I signed up with QRZ download all of my LOTW into QRZ. It was 7,000 plus going back to 1987. I been on LOTW since 1987. But never really paid attention to QRZ. Actually I will check to see how I have in QSL manager if I have that box checked. I might have not seen it! But all is well with LOTW sending my everyday calls when I shut down for the night. I usually check LOTW to see if they received them. If LOTW is bogged down now, when all the bands open here stateside, 17, 15, 12 and 10, it will be mayhem for LOTW. Hi Hi

Will let you know how I made out

Thank you for your input

Hi John,

Well double/triple check your API key to make sure that is correct.

Of course not all users on QRZ are going to have a picture but you can check mine KD0ZV and you should see a picture as well as my name fill out in the QSO box. None of this is related to your log import, its your settings for doing the lookup each time.

So lets get that working first and go from there.

John,

Just to repeat what Terry and Rich have noted/asked/suggested: Do you have a "paid for membership" with QRZ?

You have to have a "paid for membership" to be able to download/access the data-points to fill the fields in Log4OM V2.

Or you could rely on HamQTH which is a free service and may not have all the robust images that OM seem to upload at their QRZ pages.

My QRZ membership is the XML version that allows access for all logbook programs. This is (as I recall) the minimal membership plan and thus costs less.

If you don't have this level of QRZ membership you won't get the grid squares, vanity images, etc. etc..

Yes, looking at QRZ I see your membership. That should get you the 'data' points as long as you are using good login/password from within Log4OM V2. Clip below is how I have my V2 set up for the Information Providers. QRZ is my first choice and HamQTH is my roll-over choice. I've switched them on/off now and then for testing, etc..

There is a 'test' button to the right of the password field where you can verify your login/password is working. If you get the green checkmakr then your link to that info provider is alive and well.

Nolan, he emailed me earlier and has it resolved.

The check box for QRZ.com was not checked as shown on your above image. So you were spot on.
