Power Transfer
Power Transfer
I have noticed that when I make a contact in ft8, the default power setting in the log from wsjt-x is 25watts. It does not transfer or overwrite the station power setting of 100w that I have in my system config file. How do I fix this or do I have to manually change it everytime. My usual SSB contacts are 100w at that is right, just my FT8/FT4 contacts do not log at 25w -Jason - kd4lem

Help me please with this question. I just turned on my WSJTx and went through the configuration/settings and did not see anywhere I coould set the power output from WSJTx to my rig. This is save for using the Power Slider on the right side of the WSJTx UI.
I might have overlooked something there (not hard for this 'mature' OM), but seeking to better understand. If you have the location in the WSJTx settings that sets the power level in one's rig please share with me.
I'm currently using V 2.1.2 of WSJTx.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Power Transfer
There are no power settings in WSJT_X nor in JTDX. Have checked my JTDX (latest) and WSJT-X (latest 2.2.1.x) and the logs
of both. No TX power in both of it so Log4OM is using your 100w settings. What you can do is to create a second user configuration
that you can activate if you work FT Modes there you can store yor 25w TX power. Not a problem using the same Log database.

Re: Power Transfer
When you press the Log QSO button in WSJT-X, the box that pops up has a space to enter the Tx power. This figure can be retained if wanted. If you use JTAlert, this power level is sent to Log4OM, and does override the level entered as the default in Logv4OM. I haven't tested with logging directly from WJT-X, so can't speak to that.

Re: Power Transfer
It works the same way when logging direct from WSJT-X or through GridTracker — the power setting in the WSJT pop up is preserved in LOG4OM.
(I alternate between direct and through gridtracker)
