Can you provide us some more informations, like what is your rig, what software are you using for CAT connection (omnirig or hamlib) and your settings?

Hamlib did not work well for me with my ProIII but Omnirig is 100% OK

Have you installed and tried Omnirig?

That is made by Valley Enterprises and has had known issues in the past, However please first try this

Move the CI-V interface to another USB socket on your computer but make sure that you then use the correct port number because it will change when you move the cable to a different USB port.

Set up the ProIII "Other' menu as follows

CI-V baud rate 19200
CI-V Address: 6Eh
CI-V Tranceive: on
CI-V with IC-731: Off

Using Omnirig set it up the same as I have my ProIII set up....

Rig type: IC-756 Pro III
Port: The number of your com port
Baud rate: 19200
Data bits: 8
Parity: None
Stop bits: 1
RTS: Low
DTR: High
Poll Int: 400
Timeout: 4000

Then report the result here please
