This is the recent grid showing the country and dxcc - canada #1
This is the Edit QSO UI showing the same thing.
Except for changing the country, how to you suggest I change the dxcc?
I did this once with no change.

Have you been changing anything in the award manager or award filters?

I was browsing inside the award manager following the help file to familiarize myself with the workings of the application. However, I made no changes purposely plus I always canceled the edit when in there.
I tried updating the awards file but no luck. Then I woke up and used my head finally ...
My database file is shared on one-drive between my radio room computer and my laptop where I do most of my work. I checked the radio room computer and the issue did not exist.
I tried copying the user folder to my laptop per the manual, but no luck. So, I copied the complete Log4OM folder to the laptop and that fixed the issue. I don't know what happened to the installation on the laptop, but all seems ok now.
The path copied was: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Log4OM2
I want to thank you for staying with me through this and to apologize for the wild goose chase. I have been testing for a couple weeks and plan to actually start using it for logging. On that decision, I will make donation.
Thank you again, Jim

You have basically overwritten any changes you made on that PC with the user settings from the other PC, if that fixed it then the issue was caused by a change that you made.
That folder contains all of the user defined set ups and layouts
