LOG4OM Shut Down Problem
LOG4OM Shut Down Problem
Currently using version 2.28 under Windows 10. When I shut down and it goes into the backup mode, it will display the message and keeps displaying it until I manually close the window. It is backing up the files, just never terminates the message. This has been occurring with the last 4 versions. This happens about 75% of the time. Any idea how to fix this?

Re: LOG4OM Shut Down Problem
What location are you saving the backups?
Are you sure its the backups causing the delay not upload to on line logs?
Have you checked the Log4OM logfile to see what error messages there may be?

Re: LOG4OM Shut Down Problem
I save my log file to two locations - a separate hard drive in the same PC and to a USB thumb drive.
I've tried only saving to one location, either or, but it makes no difference.
I have not looked for an error since its not displaying an error message - it just hangs up once the backups are completed (successfully). It's also not happening all the time. It's not a huge issue since its easy to close the window - just thought I'd mention it in case others have experienced it.

Re: LOG4OM Shut Down Problem
Bob,
As a trouble-shooting item how about your turn off the 'auto-upload' item for LOTW?
See if that makes any difference.

Bob,
Change the backup location to a cloud location, either Google Drive or Dropbox

Re: LOG4OM Shut Down Problem
Iam having the same issue which seemed to just happen , it was working perfectly fine , when I exit the program It would upload all the contacts into Lotw
Now what happens it just seem to hang and the only way is to force close LOG4ON v2
The message is similar to the above
-------------------------
Uploading LOTW data ( 120 seconds timeout)
Saving form status...
Shutting down Log4OM application
" then Hangs there without anything happening "\
--------------------------
Yes I did untick automatic upload on application close , and yes it did close out the program , however no upload as expected !
I can also do a save export manually to LOTW using TQSL
What possibly could be the issue... it seems to be the database of sorts ...

Re: LOG4OM Shut Down Problem
Russell,
Rather than exporting an ADIF to TQSL ... why not utilize the the QSL Manager located at: Utilities / QSL Manager.
Then select LOTW. A couple key clicks and all your Q's will be uploaded straight-a-way.
Saves a number of steps vs. creating an ADIF and then working with TQSL. The QSL Manager does all that for you.
Now as for the "auto upload" when Log4OM closes. Than can be a whole different issue and I'll let other team members address such.
Personally I prefer to upload all my Q's via the QSL Manager. Not a fan of the "auto upload" option(s), but that is just the way I work my station.
