ADIF Import - Lost Qs issue

Post by WC2L »

Hi Folks
I pretty new to Log4OM. I've trying to get more and more familiar with the program. It definitely has a different approach and some neat features. I have figured most things out from the forums. I'm pretty close to completely converting and forgetting the other programs.

I've not been very active, but I've been dabbling. I have two other logging programs running. They agree on the total Qs. I currently have 62K+ in both programs. I did a complete ADIF export and import to Log4OM. When the import was done, It said 62K+ in the program. When I closed and came back to the program, it only had 59K+ in the program. I thought I had a mistake and did it again. I came up with nearly the exact same information.

Where are the Qs going?
Is it deleted countries causing the issue?
I still have not gotten to resolving DXCC, WAS, etc. resolved.

You said " It said 62K+ in the program"

Was that in the ADIF import window or in lower left corner of UI?

Would I be correct in assuming a large number of QSO's are from a WSJT program?

Do you have Skype? or messenger

WSJT is definitely a factor.
The import did show 62K
The UI has 59K

I have Messenger
I have Skype: Will.WC2L
I also have Teams,

OK Will,

This problem is due to the fact that with WSJT you can have a new QSO every 15 seconds and QSO's on the same band and mode on the same day and withing 30 seconds of each other are suspected of being duplicates.

Log4OM does not want to create duplicates in the database so rejects those QSO's and reports them as 'Not being unique' in the log file.

So the import window shows the number of QSO's in the ADIF file but ignores those too close in time and rejects them - Hence the different count during and after import.

To overcome this we have included a user defined time threshold in the ADIF import window! Please set this to 60 seconds to avoid these WSJT contacts being considered dupes - See below

Once you have got the import of the bulk QSO's completed satisfactoarly please then use the UDP method of live real time import and lookup.

Full details of the above comments are in our user guide

I will test the import on a new database.
A new call every 15 seconds shouldn't trigger a dupe!
Doesn't matter what the mode is.
If you're running in contest, the speed of Qs is much faster than 15 seconds.
