I have been helping another friend (W6MWY) with his Log4OM installation. He went in to Settings to modify which bands show up on the cluster and through unfamiliarity, he clicked on the Reset Config button instead of the Floppy Disk icon to save the Setting changes!

Checking my computer and its Log4OM installation and my config.xml backups, I only see backups when I made changes to my settings. So, what I think we have is a case where we set up his Log4OM configuration, and no changes were made and thus no backups until he Reset the configuration, and still no backup, which left him without any meaningful backups. This required about an hour of work re-entering everything in his Settings to return to normal, including all his external log links and logins.

I would suggest 2 things:
1. That the config.xml file be backed up every time the program is exited, like the log file. Or at least BEFORE a Reset of the config file.
2. Add a warning to the Reset Config button action to warn that their current configuration is going to be reset back to default values!
The above would help to insure others don't make this mistake.
Thanks,
