as I have mentioned on previous occasions, I manually upload all of my contacts and whether this is relevant or not I do not know, but mention it just in case.
I have noticed that for whatever reason, contacts I make on the FSK441 mode and logged as such in Log4om get changed to JT44 when they hit EQSL.
Is this something that is inadvertently happening with Log4om, or is it something that EQSL are doing (for some unknown to me reason)

Re: Mode change upon upload to EQSL
If in the Log4om logbook the QSO is recorded correctly as FSK441 then it has to be eQSL that is changing the mode because we only upload the same information as that saved to the log, we don't change it as far as I know.VK7XX wrote:as I have mentioned on previous occasions, I manually upload all of my contacts and whether this is relevant or not I do not know, but mention it just in case.

You should be able to see the actual mode that we send by refering to "Show Log" in our help menu immediately after your manual upload

Re: Mode change upon upload to EQSL
Log4om uses an internal list of modes, to comply with needs coming from ADIF 2.0 and ADIF 3.0 support.
The mode conversion is made through a configuration file in settings folder (modelist.csv)
Modelist file contains:
Log4OM MODE / MODE FOR ADIF 2 / MODE FOR ADIF 3 / SUBMODE FOR ADIF 3
This is the row for your mode:
FSK441;FSK441;FSK441
That means the mode FSK441 is converted to ADIF 2.0 into FSK441, as well as the ADIF 3.0 without any submode.
So, if you have logged it correctly in Log4OM and, excluding bugs on our side on ADIF code, the issue is on EQSL side.
Anyway, it's ok to check the log to avoid troubles with eqsl

Re: Mode change upon upload to EQSL
Further to this... something, somewhere is changing these entries. I emailed EQSL and they also deny changing the mode (message to & from them below). I logged in to my EQSL account and have edited several JT44 entries to correctly show FSK441. Obviously, something somewhere is changing the information I am uploading. I have looked at the entries for several stations that I have worked on FSK441 and on EQSL it shows that ALL contacts made on FSK441 since June 2015 have had the mode recoded (on eqsl) as JT44 while the mode in my Log4om log shows FSK441. Prior to June 2015 the mode has been recorded at eqsl correctly.. So, what changed in June 2015 ???? wasn't this about when log4om version 1.20.0 came out ?? This is weird and I do not know what to do.

Hello. I have noticed that whenever I upload a contact that I have had using the FSK441 mode that EQSL changes it to JT44. JT44 is not FSK441 and I have quite a number of contacts in my log on this mode.
Would you please look in to why EQSL is changing the mode, and would you also please correct all of the entries in my eqsl log from JT44 to FSK441.. (I have never had a JT44 contact)
regards
John

eQSL is not changing that mode, we accept both JT44 and FSK441.
I suspect your logger is doing it, maybe your logger doesn't know about FSK441? If those contacts are showing as JT44 it is because they were uploaded as JT44.
I can't change those QSOs for you any easier than you can do it yourself, by manually going in and changing each one.

Re: Mode change upon upload to EQSL
Did you ever check the Log4om "Show log" as I suggested in my earlier post?

I haven't had the chance yet Terry. I haven't had a FSK441 contact since I made my original post.G4POP wrote:Did you ever check the Log4om "Show log" as I suggested in my earlier post?

Re: Mode change upon upload to EQSL
OK, here is some "interesting" info. I just created a log entry for the mode FSK441 and, when I uploaded it, the following screens were displayed. (attached, I hope).. note the change indicated by the red line. I immediately checked the "Show Log" and it saidVK7XX wrote:I haven't had the chance yet Terry. I then went to EQSL and sure enough, as per the right hand window in the attached image, it was recorded as a JT44 contact which is what Log4om indicates in that window (but indicated differently in the log)..
are you confused yet, 'cause I am..

Re: Mode change upon upload to EQSL
Further info.... this is an ESQL problem.
I have had a message back from EQSL support staff and they have discovered that even when using other logging programmes, not just Log4om, when directly uploading via the logging software, mode FSK441 is being changed to JT44 however, if contacts are exported as ADIF & then uploaded to EQSL, the mode is not being changed. They are looking in to it and hope to have it fixed soon.

Re: Mode change upon upload to EQSL
I received an email from eQSL this morning. The problem has now been fixed
If anyone anywhere prior to July 25 (UTC) has uploaded contacts with FSK441 as the mode, I suggest you log in to your eQSL account and check that the mode has been recorded correctly.
