If you do any FTP transactions DO NOT install IE 11 or you'll be sorry.
If you've already installed IE 11, you can uninstall the Windows update and the FTP function will once again work as it should.
I know this from direct/personal experience and it is noted in the various FTP forums and MS forum.

Thanks for the info Chuck! I wish you had posted this earlier because I was having problems uploading a web site via FTP all Saturday and Sunday. Now I know why.
Thanks again!
Terry,
Stand-a-lone FTP clients will work OK but, when you use programs to author web sites as I do, that's where you will run into problems. The web authoring programs that upload use the wininet to do the upload and it's imbedded in IE.
Aldo,
I put this warning up as soon as I found the issue. Good old MS gets us again.
When they released IE11, they introduced this bug.
I suppose it depends what you are doing but I run three sites and use FileZilla without any problem. Might be different if you are maintaining dot net nuke sites!
Yes, FileZilla is a stand-a-lone FTP client and will work OK if your just doing file transfers. Most Web authoring programs do not use an internal FTP client.

I am using Front page to do the authoring and uploading. I will download filezilla.
