Problem with Bandmap Status Bars

Post by N4IQ »

The cluster bandmap status bars are not showing as I would suspect. See screen shot. In this case I have previously selected LOTW but bars are not showing for Worked or any of the other confirmation methods, as well. I should be showing status bars for almost ll the stations showing - the statistic screens show I have worked most of these countries on this band and the modes showing.

I must be doing something wrong.

Thanks - Bill N4iq

Perhaps I should be looking at the bars differently - maybe the bars show a "needed" status; not what I already have. ??? The Guide was not real clear on this - at least for me.

Bill,

I have the same issue. And right now I have no bars showing at all no matter what I select. With CWops running right now I have a ton of worked stations including LOTW confirmations. But no bars.

Hi Bill simply a few words from my own:

Think if anybody of the team read who knows the bandmap better than me he will spent you an answere ....

By the way:

Log4OM V2 is brandnew. It´s like a baby. A baby will be bigger and bigger each day it lives so also
the Guide/Manual will be updated nearly each day. Don´t know you have worked with V1 before
but it was the same. There is no "finished" Version. There´s a Mantis list for feature updates and
things like this. So at the moment we have changes each day in the latest Alpha versions and also
in Guide/Manual.

Little Tip:

Nobody outside the team can download the latest Alpha versions but, if Terry do an update of the
manual, everybody can download it via the V2 menu. A "force update" each day or two keeps you
up to date ....

Thanks for the replies/comments.

I am pretty sure now that the bandmap status bars shows you what you need. I have been doing some more checking. Because I have 339 countries and almost have Challenge Level 3 (I am bragging but it is pertinent to this discussion Hi), I have worked most of the cluster spots -band and mode, showing in the bandmaps. In the past few hours, some status bars are starting to show. In checking those status bars and my log/statistics, I need those particular stations because of either mode or band. So if you need a lot of countries, country-bands- or country-modes you will see a lot of status bars in the maps. But if the reverse is true and you have a lot of confirmations in your log using the various confirmation methods, you will not see a lot of status bars. I am almost (98%) sure this is the case after doing the checking. Having the status bars show NEEDed versus what you have already done makes a lot of sense to me. The needed calls/ countries/band/modes will stand out immediately - otherwise you have to search through a lot of already worked status bars.

I need to say one final thing -

LOG4om is just an AMAZING gift to all of us!!!... I have been diving deeper and deeper into V2 for the past few weeks and I am blown away. The LOG4om team did some heavy thinking before even writing the code for this software. Out of the box thinking. The features, many unique in this program, and the integration of the different capabilities is superb. For Version 1, which I was very happy with, I had a number ideas for features and improvements. They are all in V2 plus more!!! Just an amazing effort for those who put their sweat, hours and intellect into Version 2. Want to say thank you again.
